Made the jump to Asia. Four hours in the plane and it was done. After fixing my bike I faced the first challenge, cycling out of Singapore Airport. Once I survived that it all went super easy. Singapore is a very clean and organized city. There are some cycling paths and once it gets a bit tricky you can also cycle on the pedestrian walkways. To cycle in town from the airport it’s best to just stay on the coastline. Cycling routes lead you right in the centre. I felt like back in the days in Manhattan, navigating through skyscrapers to find the Tree in Lodge, my hostel in Singapore. The following days I explored town a bit, there is lots to see. The botanic gardens (I know I shouldn’t say that, but even the word “botanic” sets me instantly into deep sleep) were surprisingly nice. A walked around and shared a room with Istok another pretty crazy world cyclist from Slovenia, exploring Chinatown and the inner city. The nicest highlight was staying at the hostel though! Especially if you are a cyclist, don’t miss the chance to relax here and get information’s about the route, visas for upcoming countries and especially Singapore.
Pictures are a bit hazy. The west wind blows the ash and smoke over from the forest fires in Sumatra.
